The children's classes are geared for children between the ages of 7 to 12. The classes work on developing physical strength, coordination, balance, and speed.
However, with this also comes the mental aspects too. The positive way that the classes are taught, with lots of high-fives and encouragement, help the children to leave at the end of class feeling as though they have accomplished something. Throughout the classes, discipline, concentration, self-control, and positive attitudes, are being taught with everything that is going on.
At the end of each class, Mr. Convento goes over character development with the children's class. The emphasis is on education, and doing their best in school. Here they discuss concepts, ideas, and values that are important to anyone practicing the martial arts. They apply these things — like loyalty, honesty, humility, concentration, positive attitude, and goals — to situations that they face at home, school, and Karate!
After the student gets his/her new belt, the process starts over again with different and more advanced techniques.
