"I have known Sal Convento since he was 13 years old and just starting out his Martial Arts experience at Shin Karate Institute in South Philadelphia. I started classes at age 12 (one year prior to him) and trained along side him for a number of years (as his senior, as his classmate, and ultimately as his friend).
"What I remember most about Sal when we were younger is how energetic, multi-talented, and optimistic about life he was --- qualities that he continues to possess to this day which have evolved as he has grown from adolescence into adulthood.
"Our friendship has maintained and strengthened over the now 20 years and we have seen each other through life’s journey so far. Sal has shown determination and perseverance in the pursuit of his dreams. He works extremely hard to reach the goals that he sets for himself in all areas of life and has been a model for me that continues to motivate and inspire energy towards my own personal / professional goals.
"Sal leads by example --- academically, within the Martial Arts and in his career as a Naval officer. He has amazing technical ability and a strong desire to assist others in becoming their personal best / realizing their own goals and dreams. With the energy and enthusiasm he has towards life, the resources he possesses in the Martial Arts, and the leadership he has shown over the years in various capacities I have no doubt that he can accomplish anything he sets out to do!
"As a martial arts instructor, he is in a perfect position to help influence both young and old for the better. His talent, ability, and gift is to take the passion that has driven him forward and use it to give back to others --- whatever the vision they have for themselves they are fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Sal Convento in turning their own dreams into reality!"
Faith D. Gordon, Third Degree Black Belt, Counselor/Clinician"Sal Convento and I trained together for 8 years. We have kept in touch since then through various karate events. Mr. Convento is a very talented martial artist. He has a passion for what he does, and loves to share his knowledge with those he teaches. Anyone training under him will come away a much better and stronger individual."
